Octagon
Octagon offers economic sustainability in producing cost-effective products that are affordable for vulnerable people.
Social sustainability is attained through people being able to build houses themselves, offering a cost saving but also giving people a sense of ownership.
Environmental sustainability is a key part of all that we do in Octagon and we are proud to offer strong, durable and fast housing and shelter products made from sustainable and renewable resources.
Products
Octagon shelter and prefabricated housing products are made from engineered structural panels that are remarkably easy to fit together, providing a fast, efficient and dry system of construction.
Using modern methods of construction (MMC), Octagon supplies all components for each house or shelter product in a complete kit, reducing significantly the amount of waste used in traditional building methods.
Raw materials
Structural board, the semi-product from which all the elements of an Octagon product are manufactured, is made from timber harvested from planted and renewable forests. All the timber engineered elements of the Octagon range are sourced from FSC-accredited sources and our manufacturing partner, Saint Gobain Building Distribution, was recently named as one of the top 100 sustainable companies.
Credentials
Our manufacturing partner is part of the Saint Gobain Group and has links with the UK Green Building Council, sources timber only from FSC-accredited sources, is affiliated to PEFC and is a member of the Wood for Good campaign.
